Gregory Brown, 8th November 2010

I have some new art nude images back from my shoot in London with fine art photographer, Gregory Brown. My personal goals for the day were to learn something and create interesting shapes and images I could feel proud of :)

More from this shoot to follow soon, so please subscribe to my blog if you haven't already :)

Cyber Rayne!

Just received another photo from my Halloween shoot with Scott Chappell. How cool is this?! The purple in my hair from the Salon International show is actually pretty subtle but he's really brought it out in Photoshop :)

Much as I love teh purple hair, I'll be changing to something more natural at the end of the month when I'm modelling for Simon Pinto at the Mahogany Academy in London. It's probably not the most versatile hair colour in the world when it comes to modelling! I'll be seeing it out with a bang with my shoot with Gregory Brown on the 8th November though... stay tuned to find out what my evil purple plan is ^^ Mwah ha ha ha ha ha!

Hope everyone has a fun Bonfire Night :)

Halloween shoot with Scott Chappell

Halloween this year found me in Dorset shooting with Scott Chappell (Schotz) and it seems he was just as pleased with the photos as I am :D

"[Gemini] arrived on time and stayed until we were happy with the concepts we shot. Gemini has a creative mind and is able to come up with ideas and poses of her own which helps the flow of a studio shoot and takes some of the pressure off having to direct all the time. She is thoroughly professional, great company and never complains... Definitely a model to recommend." - Scott Chappell

I did the hair and makeup :)

I've got a dance shoot at Cheltenham Film Studios this week, then back to London and the southeast again for more shoots on Monday and Tuesday :)

Gemini Rayne, international model! ;)

I've very excited to have booked my first overseas shoot, which will be in the Republic of Ireland next month with Sean McCormack. I think we're doing latex and art nudes :)

Speaking of art nudes, I now have a shot that helps give some idea of what I can do, ballet-wise, courtesy of Manuel Odabashian and Studio Face, from my recent trip to London :)

And speaking of London, I'll be back again next month to shoot with Gregory Brown! I've just bought a really cool black tutu that I may bring along, especially if I manage to buy a new pair of pointe shoes and dye them black in time, seems like the sort of crazy thing he might like :)

If you happen to have time, please add my Bizarre Ultra Vixens profile and vote for me to go to the Bizarre Ball, would be great to have another excuse to go back to London again <3

Salon International and other adventures

I had a great time working for Mahogany at Salon International last weekend and am SO excited about my new "pro model" hair!! xD Here's some pics I took on my phone of my show hair. I haz fringe and mini-undercut (the front is still long enough for dressing)!

It has a subtle-yet-noticeable deep purple shine to the top section, which I personally love but am happy to say, can easily conceal for photographers who prefer plain old brown ;) I also love the new shade of brown they gave me; it's all warm and chocolatey and nom ^^

I do want to get some shots of the purple before it washes out, though! Here's a better snap of it:

Anita lent me her MAC Cyber lipstick when we went out in Camden Friday night. I must buy one myself, it's such a cool colour for a purple-haired lady :D

I was staying at Anita De Bauch's gorgeous little North London flat for the four nights I was in London and as well as doing Salon International together we had a fun night out in Camden on Friday night (silly snapshots to follow) and visited The National Galleries on Saturday, which was very inspiring :) I want to move to London now!

I also shot some art nude style dance photos at Studio Face on Friday morning, which not only gave me my first experience of shooting completely topless but also a crash course on using the tube! I'm also adept at using the night buses after coming home Friday night and leaving the house so early for the show on Sunday morning that the tube hadn't opened yet!

I got on so well with Simon Pinto of Mahogany that he booked me as a demonstration model the very day after the show, at Mahogany Academy, where my cut got sharpened up so the look now is more "Matrix" and less soft and romantic. I look like an anime character ^^ I'll post pics as soon as I have them!

For now I'll leave you with another pre-haircut & colour pic from my shoot with Phil GW Photography last month- hair and makeup by Heather Talbot :)

Must remember to take my rings off when I'm shooting, they're really not photogenic :s

I'm pretty sure I've lost weight since this shot was taken thanks to five days of partaking in Anita's unbelievably healthy diet and exercise regime :0 I'll have to compare with the photos from today's boudoir shoot, when I see them, hee hee!

New fashion photo and London availability!

Had another really fun shoot with Gemma at Chilli Studio today! I don't want to give too much away but I can't wait to see the photos ^^

I'm also really looking forward to my trip to London for Salon International this weekend :) I'm going in for my colour on Thursday, so I'll be available in London on Thursday evening, all day Friday and Saturday, Sunday evening after the show, then most of Monday, until I have to catch the coach home! Hopefully I'll be filling some of that time with shoots (I'll be staying at my friend Anita De Bauch's house so maybe I'll be able to drag her along to one or two :p). In case anyone's interested, my London availability notice is here (or you can just mail contactgeminirayne@gmail.com) :)

I've had lots of interest from some very cool photographers both in the southeast and the southwest but as nothing's been booked yet I won't say who they are in case I jinx it :p

I'll leave you with a new photo from my recent shoot with VicPics, styling by me :)

Salon International and trip to Mirepoix

I got some cool news while I was away in Mirepoix, France- I'm going to be modelling for Simon Pinto of Mahogany Academy at Salon International this month! I'm so excited to be working on stage at such a high-profile event already (the biggest UK hair show :p)! Hopefully I'll have time for a photo shoot with my shiny new cut and colour while I'm in London :D

Had a great week in France with my friend Lobby, eating lots of lovely French things and doing some shoot clothes-shopping :)

I challenge thee to a supermarche duel!

Our pool, where I went swimming every morning before breakfast <3

WANT! <3

My new clothes! I have a varied wardrobe but not much in the way of casuals, strangely! Now I have some nice chic French ones, which hopefully no-one else in England will have ;p

This week I will mostly be working off the patisserie-raids and figuring out what to do in London between getting my colour with Simon on Friday 15th and doing the show on Sunday 17th. I definitely want to go to The National Portrait Gallery, and maybe do some shopping and/ or go-sees in Camden :)

Au revoir!

I have a funky new online calendar for clients to check my availability :) I just finished four days of shooting and one day of intensive admin back to back and am definitely ready for my holiday in France tomorrow. Modelling is exhausting, yet I'm hooked! :D

One of the aforementioned shoots was with Philip Weeks, a local photographer, and MUA Heather Talbot, who I've worked with a couple of times now :) I really love how these headshots came out!

I've had to upgrade my accounts on Net-model and Purestorm because I now have too many photos that I like  to squeeze into a free account :)

See you when I'm back in England on 8th October, refreshed and re-energised after a week in sunny France :D If you'd like to make inquiries about a booking, please email contactgeminirayne@gmail.com and I'll answer as soon as I'm back :)

New latex and ballet boots! :D

Woo! I just got a lovely package in the post ^^ A beautiful latex dress by Leanne Broadway and a shiny pair of ballet boots from Anita De Bauch's blog sale. She gave me the boots as a free gift because one of the heels is a bit wobbly, but I can still sit/ lie/ crawl in them, even if I can't stand up in them without leaning on something/ attempting to stand on one leg!! :D

I can't wait to shoot them! :D

Bridal shoot with Chilli Photography

So, my first ever shoot with Gemma @ Chilli Photography and makeup artist Amy Norton...on my first ever bridal shoot! Today was a day of firsts for me: first time on top of an open top bus and definitely the first time I have walked around Bath in a wedding dress! (You wouldn't BELIEVE some of the looks I got!)

Gemma and Tony have unique ideas and an extraordinary vision when it comes to photography, and always managed to get the best out of both me and the locations. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day shooting with them and am over the moon with the resulting pictures! I literally cannot wait to shoot with them again... and there are ideas in the pipeline... so watch this space... :)

Oh... almost forgot...

After a very enjoyable day of hard and serious modelling work ;) Gemma and Tony were kind enough to take both myself and Amy to Nando's for a post shoot luncheon (which, incidentally, was delicious!).

However, by some miracle the staff at Nando's, Bath seemed genuinely convinced that It was my actual wedding day (well, who was I to disillusion them?) and absolutely insisted on giving us all free desserts in my honour!!!

So naturally, I had to get a picture of me with at least one of the waiters... to preserve my wedding day feast for posterity!

Hee hee! I love my job!...

Q&A: Why do you model? Where would you like you new modelling life to lead?

Q. Why do you model?

GR: I model because I enjoy creating artistic and aesthetically pleasing images! I like to be creative with my wardrobe hair and makeup, and I'm comfortable in front of the camera, so why not?! Its like being a little girl and playing dress up... but for a job... why wouldn't I model ?!?:P

Q. Where would you like you new modelling life to lead?

To a place where I am able to live comfortably whilst doing a job that I love... that's the dream right there! I love art, and I love being a part of it... and If that is enough to get me by, then my life is made up!

Q&A: Why do people care so much about the private lives of celebrities? Do you believe in global warming?

Q. Why do people care so much about the private lives of celebrities? Is it idol worship, schadenfreude, or something entirely different?

GR: I think mostly it is denial tinged with escapism, People can project their own insecurities and prejudices onto these effigies, sacrificially offered up to the pyre. That or maybe life is so mundane for some people, that they only find joy through invasion and stalking the private lives of others? Maybe both, but there is always a jealousy! Personally I think there are more important things to worry about than who's doing what with who, and they were wearing what?!

Q. Do you believe in global warming? Do you think the sustainability concept is undervalued, valid, or taken too far?

GR: I don't know what to believe sometimes... I think that we as a race need to be more respectful and mindful of our home planet. People will care about their house and their car, which are ultimately commodities... but they wont give a second thought for their planet... methinks our priorities are somewhat confused!

Location, location, location

I'm busy sourcing cool indoor locations for the wet and windy winter months! My favourite so far is this club in Weston-super-Mare, that has a runway, dancing poles, chandeliers and a cool ceiling hung with deep red fabric. I get to shoot in it for free, 'cos I'm awesome ;)

Obviously it won't be full of random men and girls in thongs when I shoot in it, just me and the creative team! But I think I will have to pull at least a couple of tricks on that pole while I'm there ;)

Bridal shoot on Monday, woo! I get to play in pretty dresses all day :D

Ultra Vixens

I'm officially one of Bizarre magazine's Ultra Vixens :D I got slightly overexcited when I saw my pictures appear on the homepage, hee hee.

I hope they like me! Please check out my UV profile and become a fan :)

Sharon Rose Photography

Hee hee, I like some of the questions I'm getting through Formspring ^^ You can read my answers (and submit more anonymous questions) on my Formspring page or keep track of them as they're answered via my Twitter feed if you prefer :)

In slightly more relevant news to modelling, I got the rest of my photos back from my shoot with Sharon Rose Photography and Heather Talbot at Chilli Studio :D

I like the way pic #4 looks like she's looking up pic #3's skirt xD

I can find a ballet barre anywhere :p

I leave you with a silly pic of me trying to hitch a ride home ;p

You can share these photos via email, Blogspot, Twitter, Facebook and/ or Google Buzz using the nifty little silver buttons below, if you like them :)
